What is my staff/student number or user ID?

Staff/Student Number

Your Staff/Student number is a number used to identify you.

For Students:

Your student number is recorded on the upper right-hand side of your Certificate of Acceptance. If you are a returning student and are either continuing in your program or transferring to a new program, you will continue to use the student number assigned to you at admission.

Your student number is displayed on the front of your student card. The number on your card will read.

For Staff: 
Your Staff number is displayed on the front of your Staff card (in place of the Student number). It can also be found on your paystub.

User ID / UMNetID

Your UMNetID/User ID is an account name that uniquely identifies you as a member of the University of Manitoba community. 

Your UMNetID and email address are provided in SignUM during the "Claim Your ID" process.

Your UMNetID is visible in UM business systems and reports and may be viewed by university staff. Your UofM email and password allow you to access various online services and systems such as Aurora, UM Learn, email, and Wi-Fi. Employees may also have access to Aurora, Concur, EPIC, and Employee Self-Service (ESS).

For students, the email address format is typically UMNetID@myumanitoba.ca, while, for staff, it is usually firstname.lastname@umanitoba.ca.
