What is my staff/student number or user ID?

Staff/Student Number

Your Staff/Student number is a number used to identify you.

For Students:

If you are a new UM student, your student number is available in your Application Portal and recorded in your Offer of Admission. If you are a returning student and are either continuing in your program or transferring to a new program, you will continue to use the student number assigned to you at admission. 

Your student number is displayed on the front of your student card. 

For Staff: 
Your Staff number is displayed on the front of your Staff card. It can also be found on your paystub.

User ID / UMNetID

Your UMNetID/User ID is an account name that uniquely identifies you as a member of the University of Manitoba community. 

For students, the email address format is typically UMNetID@myumanitoba.ca, while, for staff, it is usually firstname.lastname@umanitoba.ca.
